Given below is just a snapshot of prevailing rates which can vary with time and place. All prices are in SGD.

Housing
The rates are cheaper as you move further away from the city. If you hire a room only then it will cost between 400$ to 1000$ depending on the location. A 1000 sq/ft housing with a huge garden, lush greenery and minimal facilities will peg you back by 1500$ min if the distance is around 30 mins from the city center.

Cars
A high-end car which is 10 years old can cost 1000$. On the other hand, a mid-class car of the same age will be a little cheaper at 800$.

Food
An average lunch at the hawker center with a soft drink would be 5$ and a BigMac would cost 6.40$.

Your monthly gas/water/electricity bill - 200$
Monthly mobile phone bill - 150$
Monthly wireless internet subscription - 70$
Male haircut - 29$
20 min taxi ride - 16$
Average bus/MRT fare(one way) - 1.20$
