Visit the temples
Kathmandu is the city of a quintessential Asian experience enveloped in a mythical aura. All of Kathmandu’s offerings are sourced from its tradition, culture and religion, beginning with the living goddesses and reincarnate lamas to the engraved prayer wheels and bronze Buddhas with their ornate head gears. The leading destination in Kathmandu is the Durbar Square for the Swoyambhunath Stupa, the Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath and Changunarayan.

Trekking
Nepal is a true paradise for trekkers and is a true way of experiencing the Himalayas. The trekking routes follow well-trodden foot trails that connect mountain villages and hamlets. Popular treks include the Annapurna Circuit and Everest base camp. Avid trekkers could challenge themselves by truing the expedition to the highest peaks in the world, including Mount Everest. The trekking season is generally from September to May, but the best periods are October to December and March to April. Pony treks are also available and follow nearly the same routes as normal treks and are offered mostly in the western region around Pokhara, as well as in the hinterlands of Dolpo and Lo Manthang. Trekkers can follow the ‘Teahouse’ treks, wherein trekkers only need to carry minimal equipment and rely on these ‘teahouses’ for food and accommodation along the way. These trekking routes follow the most popular trekking routes in the entire Annapurna region, Langtang area and the Everest. It is also possible to hire a guide and/or porters for these expeditions. Organized, all-inclusive treks include porters, guides, cooks, tents, equipment and transport.

Mountain Flight
A trip to Nepal is never complete without going on the mountain flight to experience the mountain flight where you can encounter some of the tallest mountains in the world. For those who are not keen on trekking the mountain ranges, the mountain flight is definitely something not to be missed. From Kathmandu, the flight covers the scenic Mount Everest. Most of the domestic airlines arrange flights in light aircraft. Flights are also available from Pokhara and other locations west of the capital, flying over the spectacular Annapurna range. Travellers take off from Kathmandu early in the morning for an hour’s worth of spectacular mountain viewing. During the flight, travellers will be able to view the entire Himalayan ranges that extend across Nepal. A highlight of the flight includes going into the cockpit of the airplane for some amazing photo opportunities.

Rafting
Nepal has earned the reputation of one of the best destinations for white water rafting. Cruising down rushing rivers of crashing waves and swirling rapids can make up excitement of a lifetime. Rafting trips are the most enjoyable highlights of their stay in Nepal. There are rivers presenting a wide range of difficulties and a selection of rafting companies offer different types of trips, from gentle drifts ideal for families, grade 2-3 rapids for first timers, or world-class raging white water for the ultimate adrenalin rush. The waters in Nepal offer something for beginners to advanced rafters. Rafters also have a choice ranging from two to three-week trips to trips of two or three days.
