Getting English teaching jobs in India, especially rural areas remain easy
for those TEFL trained. In the urban cities, English is widely spoken. As
such, more jobs may be available in the corporate sector or in language
schools. There are paid as well as voluntary placements available in rural
India for qualified EFL teachers. Competition is strong for paid positions,
but they are still available, especially in the business field. A degree in
the field of education or a good deal of teaching experience, as well as a
TEFL certificate is needed to secure a good teaching position in India. Many
jobs teaching English in India require you to work 6 days a week, and
approximately 20-25 hours. Salaries are relatively low for teachers but the
amount is usually enough to get by given the low standards of living.

culture, knowledge is regarded highly, therefore enticing students to gain

English programs or courses on offer may be twice or thrice a week for 1 to
2 hours for 3 to 6 months. You may be paid hourly on a part time basis or be
absorbed as a full time faculty.
Commerce and trade have really gone multinational and there is a growing
need for business people to negotiate and liaison with people from different
parts of the world. It is an accepted fact that English is the language of
commerce in the present world and therefore the demand for learning English
within the corporate sector. Companies are keen on wanting their employees
to communicate effectively with their clients, make clinching presentations
and close deals. As such, in order to achieve increased business
productivity, employers find the need to enhance the English communication
skills of their employees. As such, corporate trainers who teach business
English are highly paid professionals and TEFL training is the only
qualification required for the job.
With the influx of the BPO industry and the droves of employees it attracts,
voice and accent trainers are also highly sought after. They are needed to
train, neutralize the accents of and offer accent training to the call
centre employees. English teachers with a native accent are sought after to
help train these callers in a neutral accent or a native English accent.
Techniques you have learnt on the TEFL/ TESOL course helps you to help
others acquire the right accent and speaking skills. Soft skill trainers are
also required to train people to present themselves properly, face
interviews, and make small talk and other social etiquettes.
